Dutch science & suppliers will collaborate in Legal Cannabis Coalition

Over the past 2 years, ten Dutch horticultural companies (Top Sector Horticulture & Propagation Materials) have conducted a joint scientific research to optimize the greenhouse horticulture of medicinal cannabis.

The current study is coordinated by Wageningen University & Research (WUR), one of the world's leading agricultural universities. Now these partners have bundled their knowledge under the name Legal Cannabis Coalition (LCC).

In collaboration with other partners specialized in laboratory research, product development and clinical trials, the LCC offers its combined experiences, services and products to the medical cannabis industry.

Partners in the LCC are well-known and more new companies: Grodan, Havecon, Hoogendoorn, Koppert Biological Systems, Ludvig Svensson, Meteor Systems, Oreon, PB tec, Perfect Plants, Plantise, Royal Brinkman, Brightlabs, Themato, ProPharma Group, Sure Laboratoria and Campaigns & Results.

Leading position

Due to the leading position of the Netherlands in international agriculture, Dutch horticultural companies have been actively involved in setting up globally recognized cannabis producers, especially in North America.

“The cannabis market was turbulent in the early years. North America is entering an adult legalization phase. In Europe, South America, Asia and Africa, we are on the eve of further legalization, ”says Erik van Santen of Koppert Biological Systems, which offers biological pest control to plant growers, including cannabis.

The Legal Cannabis Coalition aims to be a one-stop shop for a wide variety of industrial challenges. To assist its customers, the LCC will use all the lessons its members have collectively learned over the years from their involvement in setting up and equipping greenhouses, improving plant productivity, GMP & compliance, product development, laboratory research and market research on the worldwide legalization of medical cannabis. Many growers, investors, product developers and retailers already rely on the knowledge of the LCC. The goal of the LCC and its members is to expand this reach even further, based on science and proven solutions.

The LCC also provides training and education for its members and customers. It conducts academic research in collaboration with international universities and helps growers worldwide to transform their existing crops into cannabis. Thanks to the broad expertise of its members - from plant to product to patient - the LCC can help everywhere. The most important condition is that customers comply with cannabis regulations and are in possession of a license.
