Spanish police claim largest cannabis seizure ever

Spanish police seized 32 tons of cannabis in several raids during Operation Gardens. The drugs have an estimated street value of about $64 million.

Nine men and 11 women, aged between 20 and 59, have been arrested. The Guardia Civil said the "complex business network" exported the drugs across Europe, with the main countries being the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

1,1 million cannabis plants

De bende was arrested last month after raids in Toledo, Ciudad Real, Valencia and Asturias. The catch corresponded to about 1,1 million plants. Several locations were dismantled during the raids. The weed was grown, processed or stored, packaged and/or shipped here.
