The company Devan Chemicals has developed a new textile treatment based on a cannabis extract for the production of bedding that promotes deep sleep. Without getting high!
Devan Chemicals from Ronse develops finishing technologies for textiles and now enables it to add an ingredient to a means with which textiles can be 'refined'.
That ingredient is cannabidiol (CBD), a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis. It won't get you high, but - just like cannabis - it will help you sleep better. It is also said to have a balancing effect that helps facilitate a good night's sleep.
The active ingredients or extracts such as CBD and valerian root are used in the sleep-enhancing product range of Devan's brand R-Vital. These can be applied to, for example, bed linen or nightwear. When the skin touches the fabric, friction causes the capsules to break, releasing the ingredients into the body.
It also has Company, which also carries the anti-allergy Purotex brand as a brand, added argan oil to its R-Vital range. Sleeping on a pillow containing argan oil capsules can help moisturize and nourish the hair and scalp. In the same way, according to Devan, this applies to the drug Q10 when recovering after sports. Devan will present all of this at the upcoming Heimtextil, but will also be present at Domotex.
