The compound derived from cannabis plants, Cannabidiol (or CBD oil), is London's new hip food trend – but it won't get you high. Unlike the plant's psychoactive compounds, Tetrahydrocannabinol, CBD oil is non-psychoactive. However, it has been said to help treat symptoms of a range of illnesses, including anxiety, depression, Alzheimer's disease, and even cancer. However, some experts are a little more skeptical.
Although the jury is still out on it, some restaurants are already gearing up for the huge increase in demand from British users.
