Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of the 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for a maximum of 40% of the plant extract.
Unlike the more popular molecule, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), CBD is completely non-psychoactive, which means you don't feel “stoned” or “high”. In fact, CBD counteracts the psychoactive properties of THC. In addition to CBD's non-psychoactive properties, research has shown it to contain a tremendous amount of antioxidant and neuroprotective properties, opening the doors to a variety of CBD health benefits.
