A lesser-known cannabinoid called cannabigerol (CBG), which is not present in large quantities in most strains.
Cannabigerol (CBG) is the stem cell of all cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. It acts as the precursor of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabichromene (CBC).
CBG (cannabigerol) is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid, but it is the chemical parent of THC and CBD. The plant first produces CBG in very small quantities and then it is converted into THCA, CBDA and many other cannabinoids.
By the time the plant material is dried and processed, most cannabis strains contain less than one percent CBG.
