A Michigan marijuana dispensary offers a free joint to anyone who gets a Covid-19 vaccine

While the world is still struggling with the Coronavirus, a cannabis dispensary in Michigan has adopted an unusual policy of convincing people to get vaccinated. The Green House pharmacy has given away pre-rolled cannabis cigarettes free of charge to people who can prove they have been vaccinated against the virus.

The Green House pharmacy has started its own 'Pots for Shots' program in Walled House, Michigan, in an effort to provide extra incentives for citizens to drive free joints to vaccination centers.

Store owner Jerry Millen told CNN, "We are all stressed, but hopefully the vaccine will eventually end this pandemic, and we just want to reward people who are at the forefront of getting the vaccine."

"If I can help stop the pandemic in some way, and this is the way by providing free joints I can do it, so be it."

Promotion for free joint probably extended

In a post on their Instagram account, Green House said that those who wanted to participate in this campaign will get a free joint would have to prove that they had already received the shot.

They added, "We all hope the Covid vaccine is the beginning of the end of this pandemic that has hit our neighbors, our communities and our country so badly."

“If you choose to get the Covid vaccine (we always support freedom of choice), this is our way of thanking you with a free joint for helping us end this pandemic and get us back to normal. ”

In Michigan, recreational cannabis use has been legal since 2018, after the state held a referendum. State-approved companies have been able to sell the drug since 2019.

While the campaign was originally slated to run for just a month, owner Millen reportedly claimed that if people need more time, they'll consider extending the offer.

According to the latest figures, Michigan is a little behind in terms of vaccination, as only 6,3% of residents have just received the first shot. The New York Times also reports that more than 25 million people have now received the first dose in the US.
