2019-03-20-Granola: cooking with cannabis

Want to start your day cheerful and relaxed? Then take a look over the shoulder of 'Get Baked' chef Jasper Gottlieb. In the second episode of the program, in which the TV chef makes dishes with cannabis, he shows you how to make CBD granola.

Green breakfast

Cooking with cannabis is booming. That's why Gottlieb shows you how to cook effectively with cannabis in six episodes. Not to get stoned, but to get rid of your health problems. CBD oil has a positive effect on many medical complaints for many people: from sleeping problems to combating chronic pain.

Recipes

The CBD granola contains no THC, so don't be afraid to fall headfirst into your container of yogurt when you have your breakfast early in the morning. The recipe is very easy to make and consists of a base of walnuts, oat flakes, cinnamon and salt. Of course, there is also a dash of CBD oil in it. Here are the rest of the ingredients:

  • 160 grams of oatmeal
  • 40 grams of chopped nuts (unsalted and unroasted) and seeds (think of pine nuts or sunflower seeds)
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon Cannabis coconut oil (may be more, depending on medical desire and tolerance)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 2 hands raisins (or other dried fruit such as mulberries)

Preparation

Set your oven to 150 degrees. Combine all the dry ingredients (except the raisins, mulberries or other optional ingredients) in a bowl. Mix the ingredients well. In a small saucepan, melt the cannabis coconut oil over low heat. Add the syrup and water while stirring.
Pour the melted cannabis coconut oil and syrup over the dry ingredients in the bowl. Mix well so that all nuts and seeds are covered with the syrup. Cover a baking tray with parchment paper and scatter the bowl over it. Divide the granola well over the baking tray and bake it all for 15 to 20 minutes at 150 degrees. Keep a close eye on the granola, every oven is different.

When the granola is golden or brown in color, it can be removed from the oven. Then let it cool down for ten minutes. After cooling for ten minutes, you can add the raisins, mulberries or other optional ingredients to the granola. Lets eat!
