Fairly honest man told police about $ 300.000 worth of weed found in the shed

Found weed unexpectedly? It turns out to be possible! A Pennsylvania man who bought the contents of a storage shed unseen on the morning of January 27 got quite a surprise when he opened it a few hours later and found he found well over € 315.000 ($ 403.200) worth of weed.

This honesty itself in the world of storage suspected drug activity and reported the find to the Eastern Adams Regional Police (EARP). Police responded immediately to the crime and met the man from the storage shed who complained about the find, according to a Facebook post from the local police.

The man told police that he was preparing to clean up the contents of the locked space he had recently purchased at auction because the previous tenant had not paid his bill. The police should have paid the buyer for the contents of the shed an amount of about € 100 ($ 161), including a buyer's fee.

Before he started cleaning, the man saw a large plastic toolbox on the floor, EARP reports. He removed the lid and saw that the box was filled with vacuum-packed bags, about 30 by 45 inches each, of what looked like cannabis.

A field test by police showed that the hefty catch - including 63 bags, each filled with about 18 ounces (510 grams) of cannabis - was estimated to have a street value of over € 300.000 ($ 403.200). The container was loaded onto a pick-up truck and transported back to the local police EARP to be reported as evidence.

The address of the previous tenant was given to the agents by an employee of a storage company. The suspect, aged 31, was later taken into custody without incident and transported to Adams County Prison for trial.

When the police told him about the weed found in his shed, the suspect appears to have said to the officers, "Oh man, I wanted to get that out of there."

While medical marijuana is legal in Pennsylvania, recreational cannabis is not. Owning more than 30 gram cannabis is a felony, with a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a fine of around € 5.000 ($ 6.400), but the sale or distribution of such a quantity is considered a crime - with 2,5 to five years in prison and a higher fine of +/- € 15.000 ($ 19.200).
