The 'Mermaid' is no longer the most popular green thing in America. A new study from MJBiz finds that legal marijuana sales in the U.S. surpassed Starbucks by 2021.
According to the article, Starbucks annual sales in North America grew 25 percent in fiscal year 2021. Legal marijuana saw sales grow 30 percent. This phenomenon is related to the large-scale cannabislegalization. 39 states and the District of Columbia have some form of legalization.
Look at marijuana
The developments are moving so fast that the turnover in the cannabis sector will continue to rise. The shifting national and political view of the plant contributes enormously to this. There is also even more room for more legalization. In 11 states there is no legalization of any kind, medicinal or recreational.
