Narcos: Mexico on Netflix - Returns for its second season on February 13

Nice for the upcoming Valentine's Day: we have a Mexican drug cartel for you.

About a year ago, Netflix announced that Narcos: Mexico a second season would receive. Since then we have been eagerly waiting for more information about when the second season would start. (We forgive you Netflix because you gave us so many other things to look forward to at the time.) After what seemed like a long wait, we finally got our answer.

It took over a year, but Netflix finally has a release date for the second season of Narcos: Mexico. The dramatization of the war on drugs continues just before Valentine's Day, on February 13. We're not entirely sure if those stories of violent Mexican drug lords are very romantic, but this will give you something new to watch as you mark the special occasion at home.

Only a handful of cast members are known to have returned so far, including Diego Luna (Gallardo), Scoot McNairy (the narrator) and Teresa Ruiz (Bautista). It would not surprise us if there are more, but those who have watched the series and know their history know very well that some characters will not come back, regardless of their fate.

Introduced in the Season 1 finale, McNairy will be a key player when the Netflix cartel saga returns in February:

"To understand the current level of drug violence in Mexico, you have to understand how it all started and really understand America's integral role," said showrunner Eric Newman.
