CBG is used for pain relief and an anti-inflammatory agent in numerous diseases or conditions. We wrote earlier an article about the potential of CBG. Yet little is known about the side effects. What should you take into account when you start using this medicine?

Side effects of CBG

Little is known about the side effects of CBG oil or other forms of CBG. Animal studies have been conducted with rats and mice, but little is known about the possible side effects it can have on humans. Certainly not in combination with other medicines, vitamins or supplements. If you want to use the drug, it is best to consult your doctor first. Do not stop taking any medications to use CBG oil unless your healthcare provider tells you to. Medicines that often contain warnings and that may not be compatible with CBG use are:

  • antibiotics and antimicrobials
  • medicines for cancer
  • antihistamines
  • anti-epileptics (AEDs)
  • blood pressure medications
  • blood thinners
  • cholesterol medications
  • corticosteroids
  • medicines for erectile dysfunction
  • Gastrointestinal (GI) medications, such as for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) or
    nausea
  • medication for the heart rhythm
  • immunosuppressants
  • mood medications to treat anxiety, depression, or mood disorders
  • painkillers
  • prostate medications
