The cannabis sector is also affected by the corona virus. The leading European business conference Spannabis Barcelona was postponed less than 48 hours before the planned start of the event. The conference was postponed for several months after local authorities suspended all meetings with more than 1.000 people in an attempt to contain the coronavirus.
The World Health Organization declared on Wednesday that the coronavirus is a pandemic. According to the Spanish-language daily newspaper La Vanguardia, around 25.000 people attended the Spannabis Barcelona event last year. Spannabis has been moved to this fall, organizers said in an official statement.
Spannabis is not the first cannabis event postponed by the corona virus. Other cannabis-related conferences that have recently been canceled or postponed include:
- South by Southwest event in Austin, Texas, featuring a cannabis trade.
- The American Herbal Products Association.
- The Hemp-CBD Supplement Congress is scheduled for April 14-15 in Portland, Oregon
- The International Conference on Cannabis Matters in Berlin.
