2 years of CBD research shows a significant positive impact on anxiety and stress

There are many pressing questions about cannabidiol (CBD). How effective is it, how much should I take, under what conditions does it help? A new study on CBD research – the first meta-analysis by a nutritional supplement company on cannabinoids – sheds some light on those questions.

The meta-analysis was produced by Nutrition Formulators, Inc. (NFI) from Miramar, Florida, and included clinical articles worldwide from 2019 and 2020. The report was published in the peer-reviewed Innovare Journal of Medical Science in the November / December issue.

Anxiety and stress

In a review of 76 articles over the past two years, more than 70% of cannabidiol CBD research on anxiety and stress showed positive results. The meta-analysis focused on CBD isolate and grouped the research into several categories, including the effects of CBD on depression, sleep, panic attacks, dementia, inflammation, metabolism, behavior, Parkinson's disease, and psychiatric illness. Both human and animal studies were included in the review.

“After watching the study for 10 months, I was surprised how many people with anxiety and depression could be helped by incorporating CBD into their lives, but I was also aware of how important it is to do more research, especially into the impact of CBD on liver function, ”said Dr. Marcelo Ferro, lead author and biochemist at Nutrition Formulators, Inc.

Looking at anxiety, the studies show that CBD reduces anticipatory anxiety, such as public speaking, by affecting the part of the brain that processes emotional information.

CBD research shows: 66% improvement in depression

The analysis of the CBD trial also showed a positive improvement of 66,6% for clinicians using CBD as an alternative treatment for depression.

Which CBD dosage was investigated?

One of the bigger questions was how much CBD to use. The dose in the reports varied widely from 50 mg to 600 mg daily dose. Much more CBD research is also needed into the influence of CBD on liver function and the interaction between CBD in the body. In addition, the study authors cited the need for larger population studies that would yield a statistically significant measure.

“This is just a stepping stone to understanding more about the amazing CBD compound, how it can be beneficial for many, as well as what additional information we need to know that people can use it as safely as possible. Many of our CBD corporate clients are looking for research-based information to educate their clients. This report is a step in that direction, ”said Adolfo Graubard, Chief Executive Officer of Nutrition Formulators, Inc.

Nutrition Formulators is currently working on additional CBD studies targeting neuroinflammation and autism in collaboration with several research institutions.
